Tale No.9 // A Last Second Saviour: Clinique Pop Lipstick in Passion Pop

Clinique Pop Lipstick in Passion Pop

I once claimed to a friend that I was always lost but never late, which is pretty much the most accurate insight I have ever uttered about myself. I can in no way read a map or even successfully follow Citymapper, but I do leave almost an hour early to everything to compensate.

For the most part, this is often thanks to Clinique Pop’s lipstick, a product which has made me looked pulled together time after time. Armed with it I know I can make a 5-minute makeup look, seem like it has taken an hour – it is a real last second saviour.

One of my favourite shades is Passion Pop, a vibrant glossy red which has a certain Je nais se quoi vibe. Passion pop paired with MAC vanilla pigment, Beauty Pie’s eyeliner pen and Nars tinted moisturiser means I am ready to go in approximately 4 minutes and 45 seconds.  It is so bright that it lifts the skin, illuminates the eyes and whitens the teeth. I rely on it far too frequently but it is hard not to when it creates such an effortlessly polished look.

Clinique Pop lipsticks happen to be some of my favourite lipstick formulations on the market, they are a true underrated gem. A primer and lipstick in one they wear extremely well and lay perfectly even on dry lips acting as moisturising as a balm but far more pigmented.

Of the six or so I own, each one is opaque, thick and creamy offering a fantastic no fuss look with a super lightweight feel. They are so easy to apply I have even been caught using the lid as a mirror in one hand and the lipstick in the other whilst walking along a crowded Oxford Street on the way to a restaurant.

Spring Sun ready

As a colour Passion Pop has also been a last second saviour in both spring, summer and winter – it carries the vivaciousness for bright weather and the deepness for ice-blue winter skies. Here it is paired with an extraordinarily overpriced priced but kind of amazing Anthropology hairband – because who really has time to blow dry their hair anyway?

I would also say of all the lipsticks I own this is the one I have had the most compliments with. So, I always have one of their reds in my bag as two swipes and I know I am good to go and that is the type of reassurance every makeup fanatic needs!
