Tale No.8 // A Dream Squad For Your Glow: Estee Edit Beam Team

Beam Team: A Dream Duo

Estee Lauder’s Estee Edit Beam Team is the equivalent of your two best friends who are ready to pick you up and give you back your glow whenever you have lost it.

Except, one friend is all for that inner natural glow –  she is ready to take you on a run, maybe hit the spa and then on to a green juice bar. A day with her and your inner light is restored: you look healthy, alert and naturally radiant.

The other friend has a slightly different approach, she is all about glamming up truly believing that if you look good you feel good. Her remedy is a big night out in your favourite sequin mom jeans, cocktails galore and a plethora of selfies. After a night with her, you feel youthful, charming and your glow is absolutely dazzling!

Hydrate + Glow

Beam team is both girls in one, a daytime saviour and a night time ally. For this reason, Beam Team is quickly becoming as much part of my girl gang as the girls themselves. If Beam Team was a person it would probably be singing Mariah Carey’s ‘Why you so obsessed with me?’ all day long and it would probably be justified in doing so.

Beam Team: Moisturiser

So, what is so great about this duo? Well firstly let’s start with the main lotion, a hydrating moisturiser with a golden pearlised finish twined with skincare saviour hyaluronic acid.

Beam Team: Swatch with flash

Now I must admit I use this more as a primer and strobe cream than moisturiser as for me the consistency is too thick for all over moisturising use. I prefer my glow to be targeted in areas such as my cheekbones, brow bones and Cupid’s Bow.

Seamlessly blends with fingers into the high points of the face

However, as a highlighter rather than a moisturiser it is the dream, especially because the moisturising elements mean it doesn’t sit in the pores but blends seamlessly between skin and makeup. It also powers up your no makeup kind of day with an extra glowing tint – it is truly enchanting.

Light and golden it creates a healthy delicate glow. As it’s undertones are warm golds rather than cool pinks, like most highlighters, the shine looks incredibly natural and is beyond flattering. It almost has an I just went for a workout look to it.

Wearing Beam Team

I normally avoid bronzy illuminators as they often clash with my pale skin, but the beauty of Beam Team is that its light disperses into a candle lit glow rather than obtuse clearly I’m wearing highlighter shine. Gym bunny best friend is all down for that!

Now for the all-out glam kind of girl, there is the second component of this product, a concentrated cream which is darker than the main lotion. This is more of a traditional highlighter which you can apply with fingers or a brush.

Beam Team: Highlight

It sits on top of make-up giving an added bronze sheen to the cheekbones, which makes the skin really alluring and bright. It suits the day time as it is a glossy sheen rather than a thick strobe but it works best with a heavy smoky eye at night.

It lasts the entire night and as an added bonus it photographs beautifully in flash, looking highlighted rather than oddly shiny – which is a fear of mine. The party girl best friend is a fan because she knows you always deserve to dazzle on a night out.

I think this duo will be my make-ups bag BFF for a while to come, the glow is irresistible. I am also completely in love with this Estee edit collection so more posts to come on that one!
